The Chaps Xmas session 17.12.05

Plan for the day

Meet in the Old Royal around 4.00pm

7.30pm - onwards - where ever Santa's beer sledge takes us!!

Review

The Chaps (Dave, Phil, Rog, Simbers, Steve & Chap) met up in the Old Royal for the annual Chap Xmas booze up. Whilst watching some boring game of footy the Chaps mulled over events of the past year whilst consuming copious amounts of ale and planning the night's entertainment. The 'Where are they now? (WATN)' committee also met to make decisions on various chaps who have fallen by the wayside. Notices of infringements have subsequently been issued.

The Germany Market was in town so it was decided to pay it a quick visit before heading on for pastures new. Hear the Chaps drank a quick jar of extremely cold German beer, whilst Phil & Chap made pigs of themselves by sampling the hog-roast.

Next port of call was Sam Weller's (Brigtside now I think) for a bit of nostalgia. As usual Sam's was 'packed' to the rafters like the good old days so we decided to stay for a couple of beers whist Simbers (Mr England jumper) came out with his statement that the Chaps (excluding Lord Tonebez that other fashion icon) had no fashion sense at all!!!

Anyway - time to move on, and another classic from the Colonel (Simbers)!!!. We paid a visit to the Station Hotel, apparently this was a wild place to go by all accounts (ho!, ho!) - but judging by the clientele it would be best suited to Darby & Joan nights!!. However, we did stay to consume a couple more beers/whiskies before searching out a place with a bit more action.

The Sunflower lounge provided the last port of call before the curry house, definitely a more livelier place to be and also were showing 'Back to the Future' on the big screen if you got bored. More beer was  gleefully consumed before Simbers, having made one fashion statement too many departed home leaving the remaining chaps to head to Shah's for a rather nice curry.

See you in 2006.
