Turkey v England & Sponge's birthday 11th October 2003

Plan for the day

The official Chap footy watching venue (Simber's house) is out of action this time - match is on Sky, so looks like the Old Royal (Cornwall St) to view it. Probably best to arrive around 4.30 -5.00pm to grab a seat. KO is at 6.00pm

8.15pm onwards - where ever the Sponge beer bus decides to go !!!

Review

The Chaps started to assemble around 15.45pm in the OR - this proved to be a good policy as we got prime position in front of the telly, the pub got rammed later just before kick off. Large quantities of ale started to be consumed as will as the usual banter (Rog rabbiting on about MILF's, if you don't know what they are ask Rog for an explanation!!!!). By the time the match kicked off the following chaps had arrive - Chap, Dave, Nige, Ted, Rog, Simbers, Sponge and Tone - Phil arrived but then departed fairly swiftly with the trots after one glass of OJ!!!.

The match proved somewhat tense if not as entertaining although the off ball antics added to the spice pf things. It was well refereed by Dave's doppelganger Pier Luigi Collina and although Becks missed a penalty, it never really looked in doubt that we would get through. Only down side was the Villa ass Alpay, who seems to have hit the self destruct button!!.

Match finished with the right result it was time to move on - the Chaps (minus Tone who had other plans) lobbed off to the Gallows, the greebo pub but the Guinness ain't bad. Here we were joined by Fran & Steve. Can't really remember too much here as the beer was kicking in by this time apart that Sponge & Simbers left around 10.00pm.

Chap, Ted & Rog decided to head for the Adam & Eve as a band was on and the curry house was beckoning !!!. Vaguely remember a game or two of pool but either the eyesight has got worse or I was too drunk to see the end of the table to make playing meaningful !!!. Dave, Steve & Fran followed shortly and we consumed a few more pints of beer before leaving for a curry at Sharma's. Unfortunately, it was one pint to late for Rog who bailed out early and missed the ruby.

Sharma's was it usual self although the early pace of the afternoon makes things a bit difficult to remember at this stage - I'm sure somebody can fill me in.
