Meet in the Jekyll and Hyde from 5.30pm
The Chaps met up in the J & H with Chap being the first to arrive followed by Birthday boy Simbers, Ian, Dave, Nige and Phil bringing up the rear (ooh ah missus) after a session watching the rugby in the Aussie bar. A few beers were consumed as is the norm with the usual 'chap' topics of conversation.
Sim decided on his usual route march so the next pub was the newly opened Purity bar on the corner of Waterloo Street. Interesting place with ale for the Purity brewery served in a gutted office building showing air con ducts and all. Not really a chap venue tbh and the beer prices were a bit on the steep side.
Next we tried and failed to gain entry to Chameleon Bar on Hill Street, not sure who was the underdressed oik this time so a quick change of plan meant we ended up in the Post Office Vaults on New Street. It's not bad in here for a pint or two, but doubt it's a venue for the Chaps to sit a discuss the World for a few hours, too many weird beards in woolly jumpers. (The Colonel would fit right with his natty jumper collection).
Finally, a visit to a pub of our younger days the Troc. many happy hour had been spent in here either watching footy matches or the traditional Saturday afternoon sessions of the 90's. The Chaps supped a beer or two more before heading on their respective merry ways. The Dozers, Chap & Nige (who had work the next day) off home to bed leaving Phil and Dave to head to the Actress for a bit of action.
