For those who want an early start, meet in the Old Royal about 1.00pm and then have the choice of going to the Villa to see them entertain Blackburn or stay and watch the England versus Wales Rugby which kicks off at 4.00pm. Staying in the OR until around 7.30pm
7.30pm - onwards it's the Simber's & Tone decision time !!!!
Simbers & Chap meet for a few pre match beers at the Old Royal. This proved to be much needed as Villa turned in one of their poorest performances of the season against a mediocre Blackburn side, losing 2 -0 . (NB no repeat of Chap's trouser ripping exploits of last time!!!!).
This somewhat dampened the early evening proceeding as Dave, Simbers & Chap meet up with Rog in the Old Royal to catch the last few minutes of the England v Wales rugby international - England's performance was moderately better than Villa's and they sneaked a victory. Beers were consumed as the Chap clan grew in number, Ian, Nige, Phil arrived and Ted re appeared after a four month spell in hibernation!!!!. Birthday boy number two, Tone arrived shortly after with Steve & his mate in tow.
After several more beers it was time to move on the Reflex to see our old mate (& DJ) Dean. We were joined by Steve (David Bailey) Bond for the rest of the evening for more mirth and merriment. Ian looked like he had come from a cold Transylvania with the Sherpa Tensing coat and looking like he had just had some virgins blood (just hope the NOTW don't get hold of this!!!!), whilst Tone thought he was dreaming with the Birthday Bunny girls until a look of horror came on his face as his ex-missus showed up!!!!. Ted showed what an extended spell in hibernation does for you (too much rubbing of the head on the headboard!!) and Dave had a hair transplant which gained him village idiot status!!. The night was spent supping vast quantities of ale whilst listening to the toons of the eighties. Around eleven the Chap numbers started to diminish, Tone disappeared, Simbers & Ian got the last Transylvania express and Rog escorted Steve off the premises (he got pisssed in world record time!!), It left Dave, Nige , Ted & Chap to party till the wee small hours although Chap bailed out to get the last taxi to Marco's chippy & Nige took a curry home for a hot date!!. At the time of writing - no news of Dave or Ted!!
