1:00-2:30pm IMI Social Club
3:00-5:00pm Villa vs Leeds
5:30-7:30pm Bacchus Bar
7:30- Onwards ????
Simbers and Chap met at the IMI Club to consume some pre match beers. Four & Five pints of Theakstons mild were consumed to get the proceedings off to a good start. The same could not be said of the match, which turned out to be a damp squib with Villa sadly losing by the only goal, created by Stan's error.
After the game Dave, Heggy, Simbers & Chap headed for town to rendezvous with the rest of the chaps in Bacchus. Dave & Heggy opted for the Mc Burgers option rather than go for the more exquisite tastes of the Bacchus steak sarnie that was consumed by Simbers, Sponge & Chap. We were also joined by Tone, Phil & Bondbes in Bacchus before having a mosey on up to the Mailbox to sample the bars on offer. Nige sent his apologies by text message (virus & felt like shit), unlike Rog, who preferred a weekend in Barfmouth at the van.
The first point of call was the Bar One Bar, were the decor of the pub matched the quality of the ale on offer, piss poor, so the Chaps moved on to the next pub called Denial, a bloody strange name for a pub, but again the beer & decor left much to be desired. Not really Chap drinking establishments. At this point various splits developed in the session itinery. Tone went to meet his new missus, Dave, Heggy & Phil disappeared to the Flapper & Firkin, whilst the rest of us went of to the Slug & lettuce.
The Slug provided better beer (Directors) and also a chance to remember old times. Tone rejoined us with Jo for a few more beers before we departed for the agreed meeting place at Zanzibar. Dave & the breakaway posse had agreed to meet us in Zanzibar by 10.15pm, but by 10.40pm, with no sign of them and again poor quality beer, the chaps decided to risk another attempt to the Adam & Eve.
Third time lucky (that's what happens Rog when you miss a session!!!!) for once down came the shutters and the doors were locked for a late one without a raid in site. The remaining Chaps had couple of Pedigree's before disappearing to Sharma's for the obligatory curry. Steve opted out having had a brief lombing session in the A & E.
As a foot note, Dave sent me an irate email, Heggy had done a runner & Phil was skint so Dave paid a fiver into Z's, just after we had left. Good time keeping is a must for all !!!!
