Review

The cheeky 9 hols of golf never materialised so an earlier then planned start was arrange by Phil & Chap in the OC's at 3.00pm as the weather was nice. Steve W joined us for a few beers before we headed off for Dorridge again a bit earlier than planned. This meant that Tone had to break out in to a sweat to catch the train as he'd just passed us outside the OC's, a case of now you see it now you don't.

We arrived at the Forrest around 4.15pm and were soon joined by Simbers and Ian to get the party started whilst sitting in the sunshine. After a few sherbets in the sun it was time to head for Knowle with Simbers ordering a couple of taxis to transport us there.

First stop in Knowle was the Octagon - a strange Swedish venue, basically if IKEA did pubs!!. We had a quick round in here financed by the Colonel himself who had taken out a second mortgage to pay for the round. Then we headed for a more traditional English venue, the Red Lion, once again sitting outside basking in the sun with a few beers. We were also joined by Ian's mate Steve the butcher (supplier to DTW!), He was cordially invited to join us at the next DTW in Cornwall.

Next pub was the Vaults and to the chaps delight it server Rattler, well all except the Ape who is allergic to the golden nectar. After a pretty long day I'm not sure that Rattler was the way to go but hey-ho it still went down.

Final pub of the Knowle crawl was the Greswolde, apart from sitting outside the memory had faded by this time. Around 9.00pm a taxi arrived to whisk us back to Dorridge for a ruby.

We arrived at the Saleem Bagh whereby Steve W. who is no curry lover headed for home. The rest of the chaps settled down for some excellent fodder washed down with a final beer or 2, a good shout by Simbers. The evening wound down with the chaps heading for their various trains home.
