Review

Steve, Rog, Ted & Chap assembled at Snow Hill for the short train ride to Simbers via the newly opened Sommerfield at the side of the station to get some supplies. Arriving at Simber's around 1pm, there was just enough time for a swift ale before departing to the Railway for a few more beers & steak and sausage sarnies. Topics of conversation were wide and varied including sewage plants and greyhound dumps on tomato plants !!!. Plenty of Adnams ale was consumed before we changed plan and left for the Forest pub alongside Dorridge station.

Here the Chaps sat outside soaking up the sun, totty spotting whilst necking a few pints of Hook Norton. Phone calls were made to Tone who said he would meet us in town later at a new venue the Old Royal. We were joined by Ian (Tory boy) before going back to Simbers to watch the footy.

The footy left a lot to be desired as England struggled to beat a Liechtenstein side who would struggle in the Conference let alone at international level. However the earlier purchased supplies were consumed as compensation. The chaps then did a runner to catch the 7.40pm train back into town to join up with Tone & his mate Dave.

The Royal is a little back street pub of Colmore Row, a proper pub with decent ale - Adnams being on again as a suitable tipple. Rog had by this time bailed out as he had not seen his missus all week (most would say an excuse to stay out all night !!!!). A couple of beers were consumed whilst listening to the events of Tone on the last session change every time he told them !!!.

The Chaps then set off for The Reflex pub, for once the beer was a lot better and we had the usual sight of Tone and Dave on the dance floor eying up any available woman. Steve, who was desperately trying to stay for a curry made the fatal mistake of head banging and leaving the dance floor feeling sick. Needless to say his departure followed soon afterwards.

Simbers & Ian were going for the last train, so Ted & Chap lobbed in a taxi to The Adam & Eve for a couple of pints of Pedigree. However, this was off so we had to settle for Guinness and worthy. Disappointgly, they had some sort of comedy night on which was crap so about 12.00am we headed for Sharmas for a ruby. This hit the spot as normal before heading for home.

I did receive a text from Phil about 1.30am about sun,  surf,  Newquay & the welsh !!!, he'd obviously been on the bevy with Dave, not sure if it was Wales or Cornwall though.
