Cricket at 4.00pm, BBQ starts at 6.00pm
For those on the train - meet at the front of Birmingham Moor Street station at 2.45pm
Last trains back from Dorridge - 22.47 & 23.43
Chap, Dave, Phil and Jan met up at Moor Street station to catch the 3.15pm train. Phil nearly opted for a 'London party' having been chatted up by a girl on the platform, but made the right choice and caught the train. Tone, Jo, Rog, Kim & Mini Rog (Ben - not to be confused with 'little Rog') opted for the alcohol first choice by hitting the O.C's before catching the train from Snow Hill.
After a quick 'livener' at Simbers' the party of mainly forty-something's headed for the park for the annual game of cricket. Split into pairs, one chap and one lady, each team batted for two overs losing 4 runs for each time they were out. Certain individuals appeared to be taking things far to seriously with Tone 'stone-walling' a complete over from Chap because he new his team was leading at the time. This had followed the clash of the titans, Tone and Chap colliding mid-wicket whist Chap was going for a quick single. However, sense prevailed in the end with Phil and Ben (Mini Rog) winning the competition.
The weather had held out for 2 hours of cricket so it was back to Sim & Di's for the BBQ - the usual fine fare was on offer washed down with plenty of grog, however the rain did not hold off with Chap completing the cooking in the pouring rain. However with large garden brollies, awnings and patio heaters we survived the day and lasted until 10.30 pm when it was time to catch the train back to Brum.
