3.00pm - 7.30pm The Old Royal - take in the FA Cup final for the early starters
7.30pm - wherever the Rog Scooter takes us !!!!!!
Rog, Dave, Ian & Simbers assembled in the Old Royal at 3.00pm to watch the FA Cup final. They were joined by Chap around 45 mins later to watch the rest of an uninspiring game which had the wrong result for the neutrals as the 'Arse' won 1 - 0. The beer provided excellent compensation, but it was quite clear from the start that pacing was the order of the day to avoid any re-occurrences of the curry house snoozing !!!. The Chaps tried to get some grub but the OR had stopped serving so alternative arrangements were made.
Off to the Hogs Head where Nige had just arrived, but once again we were thwarted in out attempts for fodder as the HH had also finished on the food side. The Chaps settled down and we were joined by Steve & Phil to consume further quantities of ale whilst discussing various topics. (Picture). Shortly afterwards we were joined by Sponge who was making his first appearance for some time which prompted furious discussion as to whether or not Syrup should be threatened with the 'Where are they now?' page. We discussed Tone's trip to Cuba and as to how many virgins' thighs he would roll his cigar on!!!! (estimates range from 1 - a reasonably well balanced guess to 100 the Tone wishful thinking mode guess!!). Ted was slightly bemused to hear the chaps discussing politics, but we did have our future MP (Ian) amongst us. Various other topics were discussed whilst Rog was up to some text skulduggery arranging to meet his harem in O'Neill's.
The Chaps decided it was time to go to O'Neill's, via McDonalds by the library, but once again the plan fell apart as McBurgers was shut at 8.00pm!!!!. Simbers & Ian did walk up to the one at Five Ways, but the rest of the Chaps had to make do with a crisp frenzy in O'Neill's. More beer was consumed as well as the usual mirth & merriment, although O'Neill's was a bit quieter than usual. Rog's harem duly obliged by turning up (something about one of them going to live in Spain, a likely story !!!). Around 10.00pm Sponge bailed out to get the train - a first time experiment as he probably did not want to fall asleep & end up in Manchester. The rest of the chaps had a few more beers before departing in taxis for the A & E (minus Ian & Simbers who were off to catch the train home).
In the A & E we settled down to listen to the band after failing to get on the pool table because of two thug like creatures around there !!. Steve found some old school friends, she recognized him - god knows how !!, whilst Phil settled down to the only crack he was going to get that night.!!. After a few more beers, again Steve was injecting a bit of pace at this late stage, it was time to move to Sharma's for a curry. Nige for some strange reason stayed in the A & E, maybe he felt sleepy and wanted to avoid the Naan head scenario!!.
Sharma's provided the usual excellent high quality grub with no repeat of the previous session as no one fell asleep. Dave did do an impression of the previous session and the manager reminded him of what we had done previously. Steve and Phil had a conversation about SpongeBob Squarepants - (yes I remembered) before the remaining chaps lobbed in taxis home.
