Review - All Roads Lead to Zanzibar !!!!!
Sponge & Chap started at the IMI Social club for a couple of ales, how we wish this could have been more to dull the pain of what was to come !!!!.
The match was a very dour and disappointing affair with Villa taking the lead through Steve Stone, only to be pegged back by an ex Villa employee - Ugo. Again Mr Gregory seems to have lost the plot by not using DG and by bringing on Dion (the 30 goal a season ho, ho) Dublin. The most excitement was provided by a father & son scrap in the crowd after the final whistle, although our intrepid reporter Sponge did later report a bit of fisticuffs by Witton station.
After such mediocrity Dave, Heggy, Simbers & Chap went up town in search of some liquid solstice. The first point of call was at Bacchus bar for a few more beers and steak sandwiches. We were joined by Phil, Ted and Big Tone, but Simbers sidled off to a party at the Fire Station. Something to do with sliding up and down poles !!!!!!.
The next port of call was the Slurping Toad in Hurst Street, here we met Nigel who had just escaped from work in Yammer land, and consumed a few more beers.
The chaps then embarked on a trip to Zanzibar, a club where they play loads of eighties music so the chaps felt quite at home. We were joined by Seve and Afghan and spent a fair amount of time dancing to familiar songs of our era !!!. Maybe the chaps have found a new spiritual home ?.
As the night wore on the numbers dwindled until only Dave, Tone & Chap were left to go for the obligatory curry at the Royal Tandoori.
See you at the next session - Chap.
