Meeting in the Hogshead around 3.30pm, England vs. France in the Six Nations for the early birds.
PS Kick off for the game is 4.00pm and just in case the HH does not have the telly, the alternative venue will be the Old Joinstock - probably go back to the HH if this happens around 6.00pm when the rugby finishes.
7.30pm - wherever the Beer Scooter takes us !!!!!!
Rog & Chap were the first to arrive at the OJS, however the big screen present at the World Cup was no longer around. The rest of the Chaps arrived in due course to make up the numbers. Although plans were muted to find an alternative venue, the quality of the ale seemed to be the over-riding factor in watching the rest of the match with neck ache. This was off set by the fairly good medicinal factor of the ale being consumed. The result in the Rugby made a change to the usual England offerings as the boys beat France 25 - 18.
The next part of the plan was to go to the Hogshead for some grub, however again the Chaps were disappointed as food was only being served to 3.00pm. Not having much luck at this stage, again it was left to the beer to save the day with some decent Hook Norton on offer for the proper beer swillers and Stella for the lager boys. The usual thrashing by the quiz machine was in order, playing various games such as Millionaire, Bullseye, etc, but we did have some success as Heggy won £12 in the game of Killer on the pool table.
On to the final port of call, via McBurgers for a food stop Ugh!!. The Chap re assembled in Reflex on Broad Street (formally the Old Crown). Here they play all eighties music so the Chaps felt at home. The quality of the ale left a bit to be desired, but this was made up for by some Chap mirth and merriment on the dance floor. (Bonbes doing his usual headbanging, etc before leaving to be sick !!!!) One by one the Chaps sidled off into the night leaving Dave, Ted & Chap to head for Sharma's whilst leaving Nige and Tone at the Reflex chatting to a couple of women.
Sharma's was fairly quiet by normal standards, but provide a suitable end to the day's entertainment.
