Review

Chap, Ian & Sim met up in town before arriving at Tone's at 10.00pm just in time for brekkie. As promised Tone had laid on the full-English and this was just waiting to be served when we arrived. After suitable sustenance we sat down with a beer or two to watch the day's proceedings. Dave joined us mid-way through the first session (of play that is not the chap session which was all-day!). The cricket proved to be a little lifeless as England eased their way to a large total rather than bludgeoning the Indian attack.

Lunch time arrived at the cricket so it was time to spark up the BBQ. Again Tone had got some decent fare in and Chap did the usual cooking bit. Phil arrived after his morning exploits on the golf course (getting a couple of birdies in his dreams - female or golf-wise!!) to partake in the lunch extravaganza and also do his bit for the afternoon by putting up the dart-board.

The afternoon cricket was as uninspiring as the morning so the dart-board came in useful as well as the perusing of holiday brochures. With tea at the cricket arriving we also sparked up the BBQ again for a few more nibbles. Plenty of ale was being consumed although this took it's toll on the Dorridge dozers (Ian & Sim) who sneaked into the Tone comfort zone for a Z on the sofa!!.

At the end of play, the chaps had had their fill for the day of beer and food - the DD's left early leaving Chap, Dave and Phil to make their way to town for one final beer - or G & T in Chap & Dave's case. All the chaps had departed for home by 9.00pm including Phil the party-monster clutching his flagon of cider - must be getting old boys!!
