The Chap's Xmas session - 17th December 2016
Plan for the day
Meet at Edmunds from 5.30pm
Review
It was an attempt at a night out by Tony particularly who after doing a Phil
on the works do in Birmingham with copious amounts of cocktails and Sambuca
Shots got home at stupid o'clock.
That said was the first in Edmunds at 5.30 with Phil arriving just before 6
shortly followed by Simbers and Steve. After each having a pint of really
crap Stowford Press (Steven on the lager) it was decided to move on to the
Shakespeare with Tony wishing to go via the Queens Arms in order to make a
swift exit home via the bus stop outside.
As usual the best laid plans often hit hurdles which was in the form of the
Coggs bar on the corner of the Queensway which was a strange venue with
perfectly acceptable and cheap beer, the low stool to table height was a
particular form of amusement.
Finally after a couple of pints we ambled down to the Queens Arms for some
much appreciated quality ales. The chaps then decided to take advantage of
the trivial persuit cards that adorned each table quickly realising that the
years had taken there toll as not only did the questions appear foreign to
us but the 4 of us also had to borrow Stevens glasses in order to be able to
read the cards.
After another couple of pints Tony decided to head for the bus stop which
had since moved so reverted to the safe taxi mode, Simbers followed about
about an hour later for the train shortly followed by Steven.
There is a rumour that Phil also exited town early but that is yet to be
proved as no missing persons posters have been seen in either the casino or
McDonald's? Also the driver of the first bus out of town did not have to
stop in Aston for the driver to knock on Phil's door to check all was ok
