Chap's birthday session 27.11.10

Plan for the day

Meet in the Old Contemptibles around 5.00pm

For those of stiffer dispositions, the England v South Africa rugby game is on from 2.30pm. Meet at the Queens Head, Newhall Street if your interested - Simbers & Chap will lob there after the Villa v Arsenal game which is an early ko.

Probably work or way up to Edmunds around 6.00pm for the late arrivals.

Open to suggestions

Review

Chap and Simbers lobbed in to town following the Villa v Arsenal game in need of some sustenance. We met up with Tone and Steve in the Queens Arms to watch the second half of the England v South Africa rugby - again another losing experience. A few pints of Purity and some good grub helped soothe the pain, interspersed with wonderful topics of conversation about Bonsai trees!!. Steve bailed early evening to be replaced by Ian and after a couple more ales we headed up the road to Edmunds.

Edmunds had their normal beer on so it was business as usual, a few pints and a bit of banter. We then decided to head over to the OJS for a different brewery. Simbers had text Dave to see if he was out, only to get a reply that he was not aware of Chaps birthday until the day before. A red card was deemed suitable punishment by the WATN committee, this was subsequently rescinded to a yellow card after an appeal (Note to Dave, apart from the Chicken Pox outbreak 10 years ago, since when has Chap's birthday session not been the last weekend November or first weekend in December!!??. Note to self, since the DWP has an internet Gestapo, let Dave know about session in the email not via web link!).

Final port of call was the Bar du Vin where we supped a pint of Kinveer Light Railway or 2 before heading home for curry, champers, kebabs and anything else that the 'bachelor' chaps for the weekend were going to scoff.
