Chap's Birthday session - 26th November 2016

Plan for the day

11.15 am - A gentle game of golf - 9 holes at Warley Woods, weather permitting, all welcome including those of the 'Ape' variety!!

5.00pm - The Queens Arms (Newhall Street). If the weathers crap and no golf prevails there's always the early option, 2.30pm for England vs. Argentina in the rugby.

7,00pm - The Shakespeare (Paradise Circus one!) or if the general consensus applies maybe lob up to the New Soho Tavern for a Ruby??. We'll have a referendum on it since these things are topical and totally unpredictable.!!

Review

A gentle 9 holes of golf played by Tone, Steve, Grant and Chap started the proceedings off for the day. The old expression of save the best to last certainly applied to some of the golf played as it was supposed to be the last game of the year. Golf over and under the belt it was time to head off home and prepare for the usual alcohol onslaught in the evening.

Chap duly arrived in the Queens Arms at 5.00pm somehow avoiding the traffic chaos around Brum that plagued other members of the merry tribe. Tone and Steve W soon followed to join in the pleasant atmosphere and fine selection of ales that were available for the keen connoisseurs. Around 6.00pm the Dorridge Dozers Ape & Sim appeared shortly followed by Philbert to complete the crew at that time.

Chap had a secret surprise guest up his sleeve, although Sim had anticipated what may be afoot - the return of Steve Bond to the chap social circle after an enforced absence 'tea-partying with the Queen'!!!. it was good to see him out and about and looking really well, he later text me saying he'd had a great night out and it was good to see us all.

Then the late arrival was Mr Fish who waited over 2 hours for a bus, leaving his house at 5.15 and finally arriving at 7.45pm and even then had a lift from the Old Royal with Steve Holly - blimey 3 Steve's out for the night, things could get confusing.

We opted to stay in the Queens Arms for the evening quietly supping a few ales (and cokes!!) whilst reflecting on the years activities.

Good session had by all.
