Review
Again their was a low turnout for the after match activities.
Chap had started with four jars at lunch time, before attending the match for a dismal first half showing, which was improved by the appearance of the three amigos Ginola, Hendrie & JP Angel. This influx of talent turned the match around with three second half goals, including a super strike from Magic Man & a first and also a good strike from JPA (yes that is JPA not IPA the famous jar of ale !!!!!!!).
Only three of the match attendees left for alcoholic celebrations, Heggy, Dave & Chap (Sponge was on holiday, whilst Simbers was suffering from Russian flu or something similar).
The three chaps called at the usual port of call, Bacchus bar, where the usual steak sarnies where consumed, washed down with plenty of ale. Chap also tried some Haagarden Belgium beer which had a cloudy almost real lemonade look to it. However, it still went down the hatch in the usual fashion. We were joined by Tone and Nige (again the Mellie man failed to make an appearance) and the departed for PJ's.
Once again, the lure of the quizzy proved too much to resist and the Chaps duly lost a few quid playing it, this was of course offset by the consumption of more ale. Eventually, the time had come to adjourn to Zanzibar for some end of season arooga scubaring (drinking and dancing to the un-initiated). Dave and Heggy were doing their impressions of 'low budget' Hollywood film stars, by shoving white cardboard in front of their teeth !!!!!!. How bizarre, but it's only rock and roll. The Chaps hit the dance floor for a few tracks and also drank a few more jars. However, by midnight Nige and Heggy had departed leaving only Dave , Tone & Chap. The night at Z's was curtailed due to a far too lengthy wait at the bar to get served.
With this in mind the remaining heroes of the hour made another return into nostalgia by going to Azims on Lozells road for a ruby. A very pleasant experience to cap a not to reasonable day.
See you next season - Chap (07.05.01)
